Clear Seas Logo & Leaflets
The Clear Seas Project is an initiative set up and run by Sussex Inshore Fisheries and Conservation Authority (Sussex IFCA) and the Environment Agency along with partners Southern Water, The Sussex Wildlife Trust, Chichester Harbour Conservancy and The Living Coast.
The aim was to educate boat users & visitors of marinas/harbours in the area of simple steps they can take to reduce their footprint on the local marine environment in a friendly and approachable way.
The project included the creation of the Clear Seas logo –which needed to sit comfortably alongside the Sussex IFCA logo and branding – bespoke 6 page z-fold leaflets and A3 posters for Brighton Marina and Chichester Harbour.
The logo was designed to reflect the friendly approach of the project with rounded fonts and a clear logo mark depicting a wave in the form of a 'C'. The logo was produced for various uses in both full colour, mono and reversed options for use over darker backgrounds or images.
It was decided early on that an illustrative approach for the poster and leaflets was the best way forward. With that I mind we worked together to craft the copy into bit-sizes points for each location. Each illustration was created to match the location and marine environment.
The project to date has been a success, having had a lot of positive feedback and an increase in awareness which has led to an improved local marine environment.
There are now plans to expand this project further along the Sussex coastline.
